Dear Friends, Well they say “Spring is Here” though it doesn’t feel much like it just yet so we are keeping busy trying not to think much about it. We are happy to announce “Eagle at West Pitch” our latest print fresh off the press at Central Maine Community College Graphic Arts Department, in Auburn, Maine last week. Fortunately, my family were on hand to help out.

They had a great turn out for their Annual Open House event. We had a great time and were happy for another chance to meet new friends and a visit with many of our old aquaintances. This newly published work is now available to the public in Limited Editon and Artist Proof prints.

Welcome to the launch of my first digital Newsletter:

Dear Friends, old and new, I am really excited about opening up this new avenue to stay in contact with you. Three years ago when I decided to get the first web site up off the ground, efinitely wanted to explore new ways to share the latest breaking news from my Art Studio, home town Community, and since my art travels to towns all across the United States and Canada, possibly your communities as well.

Introducing the NEW Website: It has been a life long goal of mine to learn all I could about art. Taking what I learn, I constantly work to keep improving the quality of the pieces I create to share with you. With this updated version of www.davidafooter.com we are hoping to give our friends and viewers more background on individual pieces of art and other great resources to check out.

Upcoming Events: The first week of April is certainly jammed packed with great events. I really hope some of you will be able to make it out to one or more of these. If you do, please look me up, stop by and say Hello. I love meeting you and taking time to talk with you. On Saturday, April 7th, I will be in Auburn at Central Maine Community College for their Open House. Here is a link to their web site: www.cmcc.edu where you can find directions and other helpful information about their special day

You will find me in the Graphic Arts department from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. where I will be unveiling my latest Limited Edition and Artist proof print: Virgin Androscoggin. This print has been published by their Graphic Arts department and Virgin Androscoggin is one in a series of three of my prints that the college has published since the spring of 2005. In 2006, they printed Limited Edition and Artist Proof prints Last of Lower Dam, my rendition of the historical location on the Rapid River in Maine and in 2005, it was Limited and Artist Proof prints Catch and Release which came off the press.

If you can’t make it over to Auburn at that time you might be interested to check out some of my original works that are going to be on exhibit at Little Sebago Gallery & Frame in Windham, Maine as they celebrate 10 years in business. The Show dates run April 7th through May 5th. Opening Reception, Saturday, April 7th 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Location: 889 Roosevelt Trail in Windham, Maine. (207) 892-8086 or info@littlesebagogallery.com .

As it is happening The Sebago Chapter of Trout Unlimited is also hosting their 28th Anniversary Banquet on April 7th: I will be attending and have entered some of my prints for their fundraising auctions that evening. If you would like to know more about TU and the local chapters or if you would just like to know more about the time and location of the banquet check out their website at: www.sebagotu.org Hope to see you there for great food, friends, awesome deals on art and fishing trips and gear all while we raise funds for Maine TU Trout Camp, Depot Brook, Presumpscot and Penobscot river restorations etc.

Tidbit: Some of my readers may know that I have worked in the masonry trade my entire working career. My father was a mason and taught me the trade when I was just a boy and I’m seventy-five now. My grandson is now starting to learn the trade from his father giving us six generations who have worked as masons. In 1965, I worked on the construction of CMCC (only it was Central Maine Vocational Technical Insititute at the time) and began working there as a Masonry Instructor to the Building Trades in 1972. I stay active in both fields of work, masonry and art. This photo was taken by my daughter, Julie, many years ago as I worked at the Insititue on one of the various jobs I have done for them.
